The Effect of International Variables in Iraqi- Turkish Commercial Reality at the End of Twentith Century


This topic is new and very important for the successive evens, as the violent outbreak of Iraqi- Iranian war, the military coup of Turkey was led by the general Kanan Efrin and control of military institution on the states. This research is written according to analytical method. This study is divided to preliminary which presents the relations roots till 1980. Section one includes the economic and commercial cooperation (1980-1990). Section two studies the relations of oil and gas (1980-1990). Conclusions present the results. Iraq and Turkey are on the south east of Asia with combined borders about 389 meter. This strategic position of Turkey refreshed its economy. Iraqi related to Turkey and became part of it since the Ottoman state in 16th. Century, after the famous campaign of AL-Sultan Sulaiman AL-Kanoni (1520-1566). After the 2nd.world war, the relations were developed by thee leaders and formed Baghdad ally in 1955 to progress these relations. On 4th.July 1968,they signed an agreement to export the natural gas from the north of Iraq to Turkey . Due to Iraqi-Iranian war, the commercial business of Iraq and Turkey was prosperous. In 1980s , Turkey was care of commercial balance with Iran, that refreshed its economy . Iraq needs Turkey to export oil, as a land path for its product and as a political ally for conflicts with Syria and Iran. In 1976-1980, Turkey became the important path to entry and exit the Iraqi goods. Iraq became an important path to pass the Turkish and European goods to Arab Gulf. After the Iraqi Iranian war ,the two states signed an agreement for land transportation and transition on 18th. October 1980. Since ( 1980-1990) Iraq became the first exporter to Turkey. In 1980, they re-pump the Iraqi oil from Kirkuk-Turkish Jihan port on the Mediterranean sea. In 1980,they signed protocol for dual cooperation.
